About

Dr. Liberty Boyd is a marine ecologist, conservation scientist, and science communicator dedicated to connecting people with the ocean and the wildlife that depend on it. With a Ph.D. in Marine Biology, Liberty’s field-based research focuses on sea turtle ecology, movement, behavior, and conservation, using tools such as satellite telemetry, biologging, and passive acoustics to better understand marine species and the challenges they face. Through her social media platform, Libertyology, she brings that science beyond the research setting—sharing stories from the field, making marine science accessible, and inspiring people to care about the ocean through education, exploration, and conservation. Her work bridges research and public engagement, with a goal of turning scientific knowledge into meaningful action for marine ecosystems.
